So, I have been eyeing up these little gadgets for making vegetable spaghetti for a while now. I was certainly not going to spend much money on them, but over xmas I was presented with some cash to spend on something I wouldn't normally treat myself to. And, yes this is what I got! a Lurch Spirali! I have not stopped using it...
Even better I got this in the Amazon after Christmas deal for £20.00!
I feel I have used it for long enough to write a little review on it - so here goes, this is all my own opinion and how I found the product.
Comes in a box semi assembled, with 3 changeable blades. Couldn't be easier to use, simply select your vegetable or fruit making sure they are firm, so they are able to go through the blades with ease.
Put said vegetable or fruit in space between blade and handle. Secure in place by making sure the prongs in the handle are firmly in the product. And wind away merrily, by turning the handle and watch your fruit or vegetable turn into thin strips or endless noodles!

It is such a fun kitchen gadget, if you don't have one I really think it is worth getting. Especially if you have kids or you entertain and want to show off - when the hungry masses come to visit.

I eat a lot of vegetables, but in all honesty since I have gotten this, I have been eating even more! Mainly because I am constantly experimenting and seeing what else I can make into thin ribbons or noodles.
#Made long courgette noodles then chopped them up to form a
sort of vegetable rice! yes raw!!
I am consuming a lot more raw foods now, just because it's so easy! I can easily have a whole courgette and half a squash etc in one sitting. Without blinking an eye.

#In this photo, I made a large platter of chopped and
spiralized vegetables with shredded chicken served with peanut sauce.
I really can't say enough about this little gadget, I was nearly put off by some of the reviews on Amazon. But, after re-reading them I realised the few poor reviews this gadget received, were largely down to user error and dare I say, a lack of imagination of what to do with the left over pieces of fruit and vegetable.
#FYI
In summary:
Worth every penny!
If you have one of these little gadgets, why not share your favourite recipe for using a spirali!

#FYI
- Just chop them up and add to whatever dish you are preparing.
- Eat them raw just as they are.
- Use them in stocks or soups.
- Heck freeze them for future sauce or casserole use!
In summary:
- Easy to assemble and disassemble for use and washing.
- Any firm fruit or vegetable are worthy of this spiralling. Just make sure the pieces are not too big.
- Potato, cabbage, carrot, courgette, apple, pear, sweet pepper (yep, I've done it), pumpkin and squash.
- Suckers on the bottom makes it easy to stay in place and pretty sturdy.
Worth every penny!
